Website Design & Development
The start of the journey in website development begins with the design. We start by listening to your requirements and what you look for from a website. We want to know what kind of user interactivity you need or would like, and how you visualize your perfect site. Don't worry if you are unsure, our design experts can give you plenty of ideas.
Once we have this information our graphic designers will create several varying designs based on your requirements. These will then be sent to you for inspection. You tell us which aspects of the designs you like and if there are any parts you'd like changing. This is then sent back to the designers who will begin creating a draft design based on your requirements. From here we send you the final draft for approval. If you are unhappy with any aspect we will make the necessary changes to the design until you are 100% happy. Once you have approved the design it will be sent to our coding department for turning into a fully interactive website. This is where the design is programmed with all the interactivity requirements that make it come to life.
Now it's time to try out your new site and tell us if you want anything adding or changing. It's only when you are 100% pleased with what we have created will it be published on the world wide web.
Database Driven Dynamic Websites
Your website may need a back-end database to process information and manage your web content, depending on the additional functions you require. A database enables you to store information about your visitors, customers, stock, orders, FAQs etc. It can also give you and your visitors the ability to add, edit, delete and submit information. When we design your new website we will gather all the information of what you require from your website. We will then design the software required to drive the site and deliver the information to the end user. This software will then be incorporated into the web design, either designed by our web design team or a web design you may already have.
For example, an online banking website would use a database. This enables the update of your account balance automatically and this information is readily available when you log-in. If you do not already have a domain name(i.e Shboo.com) we will provide you with your desired name (if available) and talk you through the different domains available such as .com and .co.uk.
Choosing a suitable domain name is important. It needs to be memorable, not too long and preferably relevant to your business.
It’s worth thinking up a few names, just in case your chosen name is taken.
Once we have secured your domain name of choice we will handle all the settings to have it show your newly built website.
Email Accounts
Nowadays just about everyone has an email address. Even the cat is complaining about the amount of spam in the inbox. We can provide you with free email accounts which will be as per your chosen domain name (i.e. ours is mail@shboo.com). You can have whatever you wish, such as sales@domain.com or info@domain.com.
An email account linked to your chosen domain is much more professional. Visitors will feel more encouraged to get in touch. If you already have your own email address we can set up email-forwarding to your existing account or show you how to recieve emails from your new address with your favorite email client (ms outlook etc).
Email accounts will be provided free as part of your web design & development.
Hosting
To make the site accessible anywhere in the world, it is necessary to hire space on a computer (called a server) which has a permanent connection to the internet. This is called web hosting and is how you connect to the millions of web sites out there.
There are several web hosting options available, depending on requirements, but all our packages come with the first year included.
It will be hosted in a physically secure environment with high speed network access. To ensure the safety of your data, your website and associated databases will be backed-up on a regular basis.
Website Statistics
Statistics can give you invaluable information about your website usage and our the web design / development is performing.
